making soft, beautiful, strange things

founded by savannah, scrapss began with pastry, but was never only about pastry.

before kitchens, there was painting. she grew up making things, mostly through painting and mixed media, and eventually started looking at food in much the same way: color, shape, texture, feeling.

she spent the years that followed working in pastry kitchens, including Lutèce in washington, dc, alongside chef Isabel Coss.

at 25, savannah started bread scraps, a company built around seasonal food, regional grains, and the idea that what surrounds the food can matter just as much as the food itself.
